Handmade Patchwork Memory Cushion – Made From Loved One’s Clothing

Each Patchwork Memory Cushion is lovingly handcrafted to transform treasured garments into a comforting keepsake you can hold close. More than just a decorative piece, this cushion is a lasting reminder of someone special — thoughtfully made to preserve precious memories in the most meaningful way.

Every cushion is individually cut, sewn and finished by hand in my Middlesbrough home sewing room 🧵💜 where your clothing is treated with the utmost care and respect

TURNAROUND TIME 💗

The average turnaround time for patchwork memory cushions is approximately 6–8 weeks from the date your order is placed. This reflects my current sewing diary and the time and care given to each handmade keepsake.

If you require your keepsake sooner, a limited number of Express Turnaround spaces may be available ✨

You will receive a confirmation email after purchase, followed by detailed instructions for sending your clothing. Once your clothing arrives, I will message or email you to confirm it has been received safely.

When your order is booked into my sewing diary, I will provide an estimated completion date.

PAYMENT OPTIONS ✨

You can choose to pay in full when placing your order, or secure your booking with a £25 non-refundable deposit.

The remaining balance will be invoiced upon completion of your cushion. No keepsakes are posted or available for collection until full payment has been received.

HOW IT WORKS 💜

Place your order (or deposit).
Send your clothing following the instructions provided.
I will confirm the safe arrival of your garments.
Your keepsake is carefully handcrafted with love and attention to detail 🧵✨
Final payment (if applicable) is made.
Your finished memory cushion is safely returned home to you, along with any leftover clothing and fabric scraps unless you request otherwise.

ITEM DETAILS 💗

Your Patchwork Memory Cushion requires at least 2 adult garments, although additional pieces can be included if you would like more variation within the design.

The front of the cushion is created using nine individual 6-inch fabric squares carefully sewn together to form a traditional patchwork design.

Each square is individually backed with interfacing to provide structure, stability and durability while preserving the character of the original garments.

Finished size is approximately 17 inches square.

Your cushion will usually feature an envelope-style opening at the back for easy removal of the inner pad. However, if one of the garments includes a button-down front (such as a shirt), the original button fastening can often be incorporated into the back of the cushion as a beautiful and practical closure detail.

When the original buttons are used, the cushion becomes fully reversible, allowing both sides of the garment to be enjoyed and displayed.

Each cushion includes a super soft, hypoallergenic, fire-resistant polyester inner cushion pad.

PERSONALISATION 💗

You may choose to add:

• Embroidery (name and date or a short meaningful quote)
• A printed fabric heart
• A printed photo panel with wording

I can also carefully replicate your loved one’s handwriting from a card or note, which can be printed onto a fabric panel or heart for an extra meaningful touch ✨

Most types of clothing can be used. As this design involves multiple fabric squares, garments are carefully selected and stabilised where necessary.

Each patchwork square is backed with interfacing to ensure durability while maintaining the softness and sentiment of the original clothing.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS 💗

Your patchwork memory cushion is created from various pre-loved fabrics and should be handled with care.

Hand wash only and do not tumble dry. Allow to air dry naturally to preserve its quality and detail.

DELIVERY & COLLECTION ✨

If you are local to Middlesbrough, you are welcome to select local collection at checkout.

All posted keepsakes are carefully packaged and dispatched using a secure tracked Royal Mail service for a safe journey home.
